Harrison Jewitt Ltd. supplies timber, landscape and building materials to the trade and general public primarily in the northern Lincolnshire area of the U.K. We can supply most building materials. We occupy a site of over 4 acres on the southwest fringe of Scunthorpe and have recently added a 1,000m2 purpose built timber store and sales office.
Harrison Jewitt Ltd. was formed at the end of 2004 by the merger of two of Scunthorpe’s leading independent builders merchants.
G.S. & J. Jewitt Landscape and Building Materials specialised in building sands and gravels as well as having the largest stock of patio paving locally. The company started in paving and selling aggregates directly to the public in 1989 but can trace its roots back much further. Henry Jackson, the grandfather of the managing director of Harrison Jewitt, started Scunthorpe Builders Merchants in 1928. It occupied a site in John Street (now demolished as part of the new Parishes retail scheme) and later a large site on Rowland Road (part of which is the present Jewson branch).
Harrison Timber, as the name suggests, specialised in timber products from its Dudley Road premises. It was also able to supply you with many other building products. The business was run by Tony Harrison who has spent a lifetime involved in the supply of building materials, as did his father before him.
